Our Team

Mike Whyte, DDS is a general dentist and founder of Dr. Whyte Smile located in Richmond, Virginia. He is a native of Utah and Washington State. Dr. Whyte received bachelor’s degrees in both Biology and Economics from Utah State University. He went on to graduat from VCU School of Dentistry in 2013 and has since completed comprehensive Conscious Sedation Training and Certification.  

Dr. Whyte is an educator and Key Opnion Leader for DentsplySirona.  He works to educate patients and other dentists on the benefits of modern digital dentistry and technology. 

Dr. Paul Kim was born in South Korea and moved to the United States in 2004 where his family settled down in Northern Virginia.

He attended UVA for his undergraduate degree in Biochemistry. He then continued on to attend VCU's School of Dentistry where he earned his DDS. Dr. Kim completed a residency at the VA Hospital in Birmingham, AL.

Dr. Kim was first drawn to dentistry as a child in Korea. Contrary to most people's experiences, he had a relatively traumatizing experience in the dental chair, which motivated him to be a dentist. He wanted to change people's view of dentistry and treat his patients with the utmost care, careful to ensure that all patients have a pleasant experience with him. While he still doesn't enjoy being on the receiving end of dental care, Dr. Kim enjoys being able to calm an anxious patient and successfully treat them. He wants to change patient's minds that have previously had a bad dental experience. He finds great joy seeing patients leave with a smile and return to see him again.

Dr. Kim describes himself as introverted, but social. He recharges best when he is alone. In his spare time, he enjoys board games, video games, escape rooms and movies. A fun fact about Dr. Kim is that in Korean, his given name - Dado - means "the art of drinking tea"

From Chesterfield, VA to Hollywood, CA, Anthony’s personality is sure to improve anyone's day. He was a patient of our practice prior to joining our team as the chief financial officer. His favorite aspect of dentistry is being able to help patients breakdown barriers in order to attain the smile they have always wanted. Aside from dental aesthetics, Anthony happens to be a licensed esthetician and specializes in all things skincare. One last fun fact, Anthony is also a former NFL Cheerleader for the Baltimore Ravens!

Emily graduated from the Dental Hygiene program at the VCU School of Dentistry in 2017. She received the prestigious Hu-Friedy Golden Scaler Award for clinical excellence. She enjoys helping patients achieve optimal oral hygiene. In her free time she enjoys spending time with her family and traveling to new places. Emily is so sweet and very passionate about her profession. If you have her as your hygienist be sure to ask her about all of her pets!

Emma has over a decade of experience in all things healthcare. She grew up in sunny Florida and is the sunshine in our office, even on a rainy day. Emma is an extremely talented phlebotomist and medical assistant. Her multifaceted medical background & clinical skills are especially beneficial when working with Dr. Whyte on sedation & implant cases. She’s passionate about helping anxious dental patients and absolutely loves the beach!

Maya comes to our office with 5 years of dental experience as a dental assistant. She is bilingual, fluent in Arabic and English. She was born and raised in Baghdad and came to the U.S. in 2007. She is passionate about relieving patients’ pain and anxiety. She loves working chairside with Dr. Whyte to help our patients achieve the smile of their dreams. Maya is wonderful and we can’t wait for you to meet her!
